Rock the Vote Penticton
Rocking the Vote in South Okanagan
Rock the Vote Penticton was an initiative to encourage younger voters to participate in the Nov. 15, 2014, municipal election. The event, held at The Barking Parrot, featured two youth bands. Several of the candidates were in attendance, as well. The event was organized and hosted by David MacCoubrey.
On top of two bands, MacCoubrey produced a hip-hop video with a local rapper, The Chef. The effort seemed to pay off as the 2014 election saw the highest youth voter turnout up to that time in Penticton.

A Battle to See Who Will Play at the Festival
Rock the Peach Music Festival, which took place July 27-29, 2012, at Kings Park in Penticton, had put together a “Battle to Rock the Peach” contest, with the winner taking the opening slot at the Festival on Friday night.
